Speaking of truth, the fact that something is written in a book does not establish it as "truth". When you are looking for answers, you look for facts. What is written in holy books has not been proven to be factual. How anyone of normal intelligence and curiosity can fail to see THAT is beyond me.
As for "why have scripture at all?" Exactly. We don't need it. Human morality does not need religion; in fact, the opposite is often the case.

If i was to say to you... "I am a white female" you would automatically assume it, as you have never seen me.
If you saw me, and saw that i was a black male, you would think again about what people say to you and what you believe without first having the facts.
Fisrty, not that it matters who i am, what race i am, what gender i am, or even how old i am. One persons truth may be another's lie.
What i would really like to know is, how are there so many different religions who all work on very different levels?
I think for one day only, everyone should put down their Bible's, forget about going to Church, or wherever they go to pray, forget about preaching, and join hands with someone from the other side of their religion, have a nice chat, a cup of tea, and help each other to understand their religion, culture, belief etc. It shouldnt be about who's belief is the truth... people should take more time out to understand others, instead of competing against each other in a world of conflict.

The answer is simple. We are all different people with different beliefs, perceptions, viewpoints, learnings and leanings. If someone fails to see something, that's their truth. If another sees a God, it's their truth. The truth is a very relative concept sometimes. I believe in live and let live. We cannot and should not try to force others to believe in a God. Healthy debate, yes, but making them feel bad for what their views are...No. Plus, there are people who question. Who are not sure. A belief in God is a very personal thing in my opinion. To each their own. It's best to be content with what u believe in. Why worry about others beliefs. It's not like they have committed a sin if they don't feel there is a God, or question the presence of God. We all like to be independent thinkers. Differences are a very healthy thing. It's normal.

Because there are not any facts backing up that truth that you mentioned. There ARE scientific facts backing up why the sun comes up and goes down..there are facts that the earth is over 1,000,000 years old...there are facts about how life is started... yet there are not any facts that back the bible up, in fact many of the bibles chapters are missing, I am talking about the Gnostic chapters, and how can you know the truth of the bible, if there are facts that are missing from it? The truth is that you can't.

Very simple.
Blind.
Sin nature, not sins, keeps a person from seeing the truth (or Truth).
If one thinks they know and rely on their own abilities to somehow search out, from where I don't know, and acquire truth, they are wrong.
If there was no Bible, how would anyone know absolutely what is?
Atheist is simply a position denieng the existence of a god. They don't claim to know where we came from. (I don't know the oring of evolution, but I doubt it was from atheists).

We don't allow ourselves to be brainwashed.
We don't always accept what someone says as true
and not question it.
We don't read one book and believe it's all true because I'm
told by someone that it is.
We don't ignore facts and evidence.
We don't say it's science fact without the science to back it up.
We do use our logic, common sense, reason, gather all
the facts and evidence, then come to a conclusion.
As an Atheist, we see things very clearly.

how absurd is it to believe some thing you have never seen? howridicuous is it to believe as sacred words that were written a long a s s time ago and may very well have really only been a fairytale for the times? how is it so IRRESPONSIBLE and selfish that so many people can be so self centered as to inflict their beliefs on everybody else and if other people do not choose to believe such trash are denigrated and "prayed for" to some invisible and non existent fairy tale entity. I don';t understand THAT either but then i do NOT expect you to see the TRUTH of it either

I think it is possible to be an athiest. In order to believe in God, you must have faith that what you read in the Bible is true. Sometimes, people just aren't capable of doing that.

Circular reasoning or math never self validates
A= B + C = A + B = A.....
You must assume your god exists first...which requires belief not proof
proof will validate your claims but must come from outside sources, you can never use your own claim to validate your own claim
