Maine Coons are very large and energetic cats, sometimes weighing 11.3 kilograms (25 pounds); the average weight is 6 to 9 kilograms (13-20 pounds) for adult males and less (7-11 pounds) for females. Male Maine Coons may grow to a length in excess of 1 meter (40 inches); the longest cat on record is a Maine Coon 121cm (49 inches) in length.[citation needed] Growth to full size often takes longer than for most cats, with Maine Coons usually reaching full size at age three or four.

A full grown male Maine Coon cat can weigh more than 25 pounds. I have an adult female, she is about 15 -18 pounds. Maine Coons are fantastic cats - I adore them! It's hard to estimate adult weight based on what he weighs right now.

I had a Maine Coon previously and he was nearly 16 pounds when fully grown and healthy. At 5 months he weighed in at 10 pounds and his paws were fairly large, so I thought he would be larger. One day a live Bobcat was just outside the fence to my yard and my cat appeared to be nearly as large (body structure) as the wild Bobcat!

I would guess that your cat should weigh approximately 18-20 pounds fully grown. Please do not restrict your cats calories, or let anyone tell you your pet is 'fat', because as kittens they require good nutrition.

Currently I have two Himalayan's whose Father was over 19 pounds! I thought perhaps they would be very large, but are both average adult sized at 11 and 12 pounds. I feed them Natural Balance and find they have good nutrition, less hairballs and other issues.

The largest cat I have ever seen in person is owned by a friend of mine. He weighs over 27 pounds and is quite lean. He is a Siamese and dwarfs other cats.

Both maine coon cats that I have had in the past have weighed a good 18 to 20 pounds, they were both males, and up till their deaths were in great health. Be aware that one of main coons did die from complications of diabeats.

I had a female Maine Coon cat and she weighed 20 lbs, she was very beautiful. My Norwegian Forest cat (male) weighs 23lbs right now he is bigger than my friends 2 Cairn Terrier dogs. But my vet tells me he is in great healthover weight, but very healthy. Of course to a Dr or vet everyone is over weight.
