Against, because I think it cuts closer to the skin and so the hair takes longer to grow back

My ex-girlfriend shaves her legs with the grain. I shave my face against the grain. I get a much closer shave that way. It takes a little longer though. Doing it in a hurry can cause bleeding.

if you shave with the grain and then go back over the same spot against the grain, you'll get a super close shave.

I shave my legs from the knee to the ankle. I've found that I get less cuts this way. Just always be careful in shaving the knee, as it always seems to want to bleed.
