I've overcome a dependency on Vicodin, and I don't want to go down that route again. I told this to the doctor, and he didn't seem like he was listening.
Will tylenol with codiene have the same effects as the vicodin?
I just don't want to end up where I was.

codeine can be addictive, but it makes u drowsy and fall asleep. I don't really know if its more addictive than vicodin. I don't think its as strong. Good luck to you and i hope you don't get addicted. do you really need to take the pain medication? It may solve one problem, but cause many other promblems down the road.

You can become just as addicted to codeine as you can to vicodin, they are both from opium. It is not as strong so it will take longer to become addicted (unless you have a severe addictive personality). Codeine does not even affect me - just like plain tylenol. I have to take extra strength vicodin (migraines), I go through over 100 a month. But I can go days without them and have no negative effects so my doctor knows I am not addicted (I also take valium, and phenobarbitol - both addictive- for andxiety and asthma) I am fortunate not to have an addictive personality.
Have you asked about toradol it is a strong NSAID like Ibuprofen but stronger, and it is not habit forming

Vicodin is hydrococodone, which is pretty much identical to Tylenol with codeine.
