Unfortunately, there are a lot of breeders selling very bad examples of the breed, particularly ones which are not KC Reg'd. If you want to increase your chances of purchasing a well bred healthy Pug, always go via a Breed Club. There is a Northern Pug Club & I would advise you to contact them. You may find a cheaper Pug puppy elsewhere, but it could well cost you far more in the long run in Vet's bills & heartache.

try www.epupz.com, any ad over 5 days old is free to view its free to sign up and you can view pics of the pups at the time sometimes at different stages, there are even expectant litters you can put your name down for as interested, i do know a pug breeder in south wales her pugs sell around £1200 each good luck with your search

Hi, if you've tried the Kennel Club puppy register & the ePupz site (both already mentioned) with no luck - then have a look on the Champdogs site:
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_pug.html
Even if 'local' breeders may not currently have a litter, there may be one planned & they may be willing to put you on a waiting list.
You could also try regularly checking these sites:
http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/pets4homes/home.nsf/PV?SearchView&Query=(FIELD%20TypeTX=Dogs)%20%20AND%20(FIELD%20BreedTX=Pug)%20&start=1&count=10&SearchOrder=3&ExactMatch=True&SearchWV=FALSE&SearchFuzzy=FALSE&SearchMax=200

or placing your own wanted ad.
Good luck

http://www.kennels.co.uk/Toy/Pug.htm - just googled it! if you go on that site there is a list of registered breeders with websites so you can have a good luck prior to visiting and there is abit of history about the breed as well.
Good luck
