welllll lol
actually there are a lot of studies into the use of certain parts of the brain when in meditation and ( as you know i do ) linking with spirit etc
so i would imagine the same goes for any religious experience
however these studies dont suggest that it is a hormonal change creating a false experience ... only that the experience is held in that part of the brain

You can do one right here.
In preparation, for the sake of this study, suspend your need to rationalize everything for a moment and, still being logical, think spiritually, the way that poetry makes you think. Really, the rules of the study say that you have to take a moment to prepare your self before going on.
When you’re ready…
Think about a holy being who created the world and everything in it and who loves human beings with unfathomable love. Then think about there being both good and evil in the world, while still having the loving, holy being in your vision. Then think about the evil in your own life, sin, in other words. Then think about being separated from the loving and holy being, who is God, by the sin in your life. Think about knowing that you are separated from him and from all love and all holy things for all of eternity. Think about the torment of living with only negative thoughts for all of eternity. Now, think about a man who came to earth without sin and lived completely without sin his whole life, so that he could be illegally tried, scourged and mocked, and nailed to a cruel cross and die on it, so that he could pay the penalty for sin, separation from God.
From this point the study could go in two different directions. If you took an active part in the study and would like further information you can IM me or email me at netzizula@yahoo.com. Also, the link below has much to say on what this study is about.
