You need the W2's to file electronically because you need the employer ID number for inputting electronically , and if you are mailing your returns you need to include a copy of the W2, You need to allow more time for the employer to send you the W2. They have until Jan 31st, if you don't have it by then call the employer, if you don't have by Feb 15th call the Internal Revenue Service and file a W2 complaint.
Some tax preparation places will give you a loan in anticipation of a refund based on your W2 information, but why would you want to pay a fee and interest on a loan when you just wait a bit longer and have the refund direct deposited into your own bank account

Hello, I own a tax service (Tax Wizardz) your taxes can be figured with your last check stub and based on your estimated refund you can receive a loan (must credit qualify), and when you get your W2's you return to the same tax office and have your return completed and the money you received will then be deducted from your refund. This is the same info many offices like HR Block, Jackson Hewitt, Liberty Tax are telling you in blurb at the end of their advertisement, the trouble is they say it so fast you might miss it. Good luck

H and R Block has been showing a commercial here(in my state of New Jersey) for the past couple weeks, showing that you can go there and get your tax refund early, even if your W2's have not arrived. So I'd try your local H and R Block or if you don't have a local one, go to their website.

I have filed on-line using my last pay stub for the year. There is usually enough info if your workplace includes their tax id number. You may have this info from previous years. Also, you will need to-date info like total gross pay, fed and state taxes paid, social security, etc.
