You really can't generalize like that. Sure, there are some Indians who are athiest, but there are many who believe in one religion or another, some are Christian.

Which Indians are you referring too? The American Indians believe in God, as the Great Spirit in the sky, the Creator.

If you mean Native Americans, then YES. Native Americans have a grasp on God and spirituality that Christian America will never understand, their minds are too narrow and intolerant. A wise man once said:

"We do not want churches because they will teach us to quarrel about God, as the Catholics and Protestants do. We do not want that."

"We may quarrel with men about things on earth, but we never quarrel about the Great Spirit."

"I believe much trouble and blood would be saved if we opened our hearts more. I will tell you in my way how the Indian sees things. The white man has more words to tell you how they look to him, but it does not require many words to seek the truth....."

"Too many misinterpretations have been made... too many misunderstandings...The Great Spirit Chief who rules above all will smile upon this land... and this time the Indian race is waiting and praying."

Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Nation

Not true, we acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being (called Ishwara, Bhagavan, etc.), and we have deities that represent different aspects of this Supreme Being.

Plus mullah_robertson is right, if you're talking about the Abrahamic God, there are Christians, Jews, and Muslims in India as well. Frankly though, God is the same no matter what the faith.

American Indians believe in the Great Spirit. So of course they believe in a God. They are one of the most spiritual people who have ever inhabited the earth. They respected the earth, animals, plants, and people. You can't ask for more than that.

They might agree that there is not only one God. Both groups are polytheistic so its fair to say that by and large they may believe in the co-existence of many lessor gods as well as a great spirit...

actually know something about hindu mythology and its demigods so I'm not just generalizing...

For example- if a Hindu believes that Vishnu or Shiva or Krishna is the supreme creator that doesnt preclude him from worshipping a lessor deity, like Ganesh, Lakshmi or Indra..

That probably doesnt asnwer your question but I didnt like they was you asked it anyway.

What do you mean by indians? Hindus or Sikhs. From what i know Sikhs are very religious. Also what do you mean about God? Many people believe in people like Jesus who are messengers not actually Gods. They were sent by God. Sikhs have more then 10 sons of gods.
