Depends on the state, but where I work the answer is YES! We can arrest you and cite your parents.

Truancy is a status offense. This usually means the police will take you down to the station and call your parents to come and get you. You will then probably be given a summons for you and your parents to appear in juvenile/family court. The Judge will then decide punishment which could be probation, community service or a fine for your parents.

They sure can. Many states have laws stating that you must be in school. When you are out of school without good reason, you are breaking the law. I have seen several times when kids skip school repeatedly the police are called. Even if they do not find you on the day you are skipping class, they can find you when you return to school.

Heck Yh.. But you can get a waiver if your school will allow it. It honestly depends if your on the good side of your staffing at your school. You can get arrested for it until your 18.

Depends on the state, and in some you can get arrested, and or your parents can receive a hefty fine, and you and your parents can go out and do community service together???
