Who made the ark of the covenant?

Deuteronomy 10:1-3
At that time the LORD said unto me [Moses], Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood. ... And I made an ark of shittim wood....

Exodus 37:1
And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood

Ok who was it? or is this a contradiction?

Not at all.

If you tell your friends you are "building a house," does that have to mean that you are actually LITERALLY building the house yourself, or does it mean that you have hired someone to build the house?

Moses commissioned the building of the Ark, and Bezaleel was the man who physically put it together.
