It seems that the prepares at Jackson Hewitt are so anxious to get you in their chair. I witnessed two preparers about to fight over a customer. So there must be nice money in the businnese.

As a preparer, generally, if you aren't doing a return, you aren't making any money. I am not a JH employee but they probably make $25-$35 for each return.

A lot depends on the dynamics of the office and the relationships between the employees. I am sure that some offices are very cordial and everybody shares and there are others where the fight tooth and nail over each 1040ez.

I work at Jackson Hewitt and we get paid hourly. Some stores are slow so some of the employees would fight for the coustomer. We don,t do it where i am at. We just take turns.
