The main side effects could be speech related - there may be some difficulty finding the right words or speaking. Some people find they suffer from depression or fatigue. Some have headaches or persisant feelings of 'aura'.
The main side effect or complication is that seizures will not be cured.

There are (very rare) instances where people have suffered from mental or personality problems, but it's very rare.
