I'm not very popular with the English language because I'm from Roumania so i will try to explain the causes of a nuclear war: a nuclear war between.. let's say... US and Russia..will bring the Nuclear Winter if too many rockets are fired....a nuclear bomb could raze NY and it's surroundings....the blast of the bomb can blind you if you look straight to it....it destroys all life forms....and the crush site will be radioactive for 150 years.....a massive bombardment with nuclear bombs will bring life extinction on earth.....i hope you are pleased with the answer and i hope that i didn't make too many grammar mistakes

Hmmm the use of nuclear weapons would cause and define a nuclear war. As for the effects, it would vary based on how many nukes, where they explode, wind conditions, etc... Needless to say, we would be looking at large landmasses, and areas that would be uninhabitable for decades. Just look at Chernobyl for effects of radiation on the environment.

A Nuclear war would not happen unless, the people whom are capable of using them (USA,Russia,UK,China) feel they're in danger. Russia,USA,U.K would never launch a nuclear attack unless they feel they're in danger. Countries won't launch an attack otherwise.

Depending on the Nuclear weapon and how many are used, they'll kill millions of people, possibly causing tsunamis, if not a nuclear winter.

It all boils down to money. There is no such thing as a nuclear war. War is war. Nuclear weapons are just that, Weapons. Your question is; Why is war fought? MONEY.
Now go away, and let the adults play.

usually it has to do with things like acquistion of vital resources, when the leaders of a powerful country feel that the future of that country is in jeopardy, war (perhaps nuclear war) is possible

All it takes is some lunatic to want to flex his nuclear muscles and push the first button, and it is all downhill from there.
