All you Theologians out there please give me a little help. I'm writing a research paper and I am stuck when it comes to finding a current example for the relevance the Genesis 1 creation story has today.
Can any of you think of current situations that share a common ground?

Your responses are nicely thought out but, none of you has actually answered my question yet. I asked what situation TODAY could be compared with the story of the creation OF (as in the writing of..not the story of creation within Genesis 1) Genesis 1. I'm looking for current examples of people who have stepped up and written something that influenced a large group of people and perhaps saved their lives or their faith.

The creation story gives a whole basis to the bible. It explains the original sin. Without this sin the rest of the bible is pointless. If Adam and Eve had never eaten the fruit Jesus would have never had to die for our sins because there would be none. This is the relevance of Genesis one and the whole creation story.

It is my opinion that accepting the fact of creation is the first step to true understanding.
it is, once again in my opinion, the intelligent man that knows he was created in the image of God.
but then that's just the opinion of this Christian Preacher, writer and Evangelist.
