It was a weak moment, it was in my email, and I did mean it, but what should I do now? We hv known each other a year, and he keeps saying he is "not ready" to take it further. It's long distance. Have I done permanent damange and scared him away for good? Guys, what should I do. Would really like a guy's opinion. I just dont feel ready to let him go. I love him.

It would scare me and most guys, too. He's probably never gonna view you the same now. I hope that he's old enough and ready to settle with you. If not, don't be surprised if he makes himself very distant and cold to you from now on. That was a definite No-No that you pulled on him. We know that girls grow up thinking and planing for that big day, but we don't. It usually happens to us...even though we're the one's who get down on one knee. Marriage is still (in the back of our minds) a bad thing. And end to freedom...not good...sorry, ladies.

You proposed to him through email!? Not only is that a horrible way to propose but if you don't mean it... don't "type" it!! haha
I guess to answer your question, although I'm not a guy, you'd need more information about the email. What came before and after the "marry me" part. If he loves you , he won't let you go.
If that scared him away.. one spill of words... then he's not worth your lifetime.

Goodluck!! I hope everything works out for you two~!

Tell him you're ready to take it to the next level, but if he isn't you can wait.
