He told me ages ago that if he gets a girl pregnant he'll marry her. He knows I'm not on the pill. I asked him why he doesn't pull out and he said "So you would prefer me to bust on your stomach?"

It's his way of keeping you. In hopes of getting you pregnant. He sounds insecure of your relationship, and doesn't feel like he truly has you, or else he would have given you the respect to talk about something like that, for example a possibility of pregancy. That would be the grown up thing to do. Discuss things with him, and perhaps maybe give him some reassurance of your feelings toward him, so he wont feel like your leaving and that his one resort to keep you is to get you pregnant. If he continues to do so, after you have asked him not to, drop him, thats not a relationship built on respect, which you as a woman deserve. All the best.
