I agree wiht those of you who say Christians...I also agree that the chosen are led by the Holy Spirit....I'm really looking for something beyond this as to why did the Holy spirit lead some ot God and not others...Why were they chosen?

The chosen are those who are drawn by God to Christ through the Holy Spirit, what is meant by many are called refers to the passage that says that God would that none should perish, so all get there shot some just don't choose the way of life.

Jesus was telling a parable about a king who invited all to come to a wedding banquet after the first invited guests refused the invitation. Many came but there were some people who weren't wearing the wedding clothes. The wedding clothes represents the righteousness of Christ. Those who don't have the righteousness of Christ covering them will not be chosen to remain in the wedding banquest. Many are called, but few are chosen.

I believe that the Jews were chosen by God , for the Law was given through Moses, and then through Jesus, Grace was and Truth were given to anyone who chooses to become an adopted child of God. So the Chosen are those who believe the Word of God either as a Jew, through the Law or as a Christian through Christ. (John 1: 17) (Exodus 20:1)

everyone is chosen...it is a matter of listening and following...all you have to do is open your heart and make room in your life for your Heavenly Father....have faith and pray and it will be the transformation of your life.....the "chosen" as you call them will have to answer to God as well...everyone will at one point in your life....if not after death.....believe
