sacrifice a lamb? *cry* but a lamb is a beautiful thing! another thing that slightly annoys me when religious people say that humans were created in the image of God as if God favors humans, thats not nice if i were God i would like animals better, humans are cruel sometimes. God loves lambs too!

This was part of the plan. He first suffered in the Garden feeling the pain and suffering of our sins and then his death sealed the deal, not only did he die for our sins but he died for our suffering, our sorrows, our pain of any kind, and when you give up anything for someone else that is called a sacrifice weather you know the consequences or not, it's not called suicide. Through him we are able to spend eternity with Heavenly Father and our other worthy loved ones. Through him we are able to be forgiven for our sins. Through him we can have hope restored. He is the messiah, our savior, and it is possible through faith, if everything made sense we wouldn't need faith. As for animals, God put them here to teach us how to love, and yes it says in the bible that we are created in his image, and why wouldn't he favor us, learn about his plan and then you will know why he favors us.

Everyone's messed up. Lied, cheated, adultered, etc. So, God--loving and merciful--wanted to save us. Why? I'm not sure; who would save someone(s) that had betrayed Him? God sent his Son, Jesus, to bear the sins of the world. The only way to take the sins off of man was a perfect sacrifice. In bc, an unblemished lamb was sacrificed for similar reasons (forgive sins as well as for harvest, planting, etc). When Jesus was sacrificed, the sacrificial lamb was no longer needed because Jesus was beyond perfect: He was completely God and completely man (terribly complicated). I hope that this has brought some clarity to your question and not just more questions.

Ok lets start here. The bible says the wages (cost of) of sin is death. When Adam and Eve sinned by taking a bite from the fruit of knowledge 2 things happened the first being that they lost the ability to live forever on earth. Adam was condemned to die. The word death is translated to mean he could die and continue to die until he was dead. Yes it took 920 years, but he did physically die. The second thing that happened was that they were seperated from God and eternal life in heaven because of the sins they committed.
For a long time people used animal sacrifices as a death to wipe away the sins they had committed. But even then they knew of a coming Messiah or Savior who would save them from their sins.
Then Jesus came, because He lived a sinless life on earth He had no sins to die for. He chose to allow His death as atonement, the ultimate sacrifice, for all sin past present and future of those who believe in him. So He was killed and descended to Hell, but because He Himself was innocent He was able to conquer death and live again.
I know it sounds like a lot, but it is the best I can explain it. Hope it helped.

It does not make sense for a person to do so. Jesus on the other hand is the human incarnation of God. As all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, only He could pay the price. Think of it like this humans are created machines that have gone wrong, not doing what we were made to do, as we are a very complex machine only the inventor can fix it since nobody else understands it.

God demanded blood sacrifice to pay for sin all through the old testament they sacrificed animals. but it was only a temporary solution as they would sin again so God made a final sacrifice which was the perfect lamb of God Jesus he paid the price for all sin in the world. but we are only forgiven if we accept it and receive his blood to pay for our sins. it is quite hard to understand you really need to read the whole bible and get guidance. May God bless you.

Hello, from the beginning of man he sinned against God. The only way God can redeem sin is with a perfect sacrifice to take the place and pay the price for the sin. Jesus was God in the flesh born of the virgin mary and God. Jesus died on the cross after living a perfect life to Gods standard so that all who believe and pray for forgiveness of their sins and ask him to be their lord and guide in life they are offered freely from God forgiveness and eternal life in paradise in heaven.

Jesus did not die for your sins. He did pay, with His blood, the sin debt of ALL of mankind... past, present, and future... The sacrifice of Jesus and His resurection and assintion to Heaven Was God's way of make The Way clear and available to all who would come to Him..... All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation and become of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.....The Sacrifice of Jesus was The Final Sacrifice that ever need be made for the payment of mankinds sin debt.... there is now no sacrifice that any man can make that will earn a way to Heaven....there is now only The Way God prescribes...There is a bit more to it of course... and YA is not the place to go into it...let me make a short explination...
God makes the rules... every one has to follow The Rules if they want to go to heaven.... you can not buy a ticket on your own... but Jesus has already bought your ticket and it is waiting for you at The Gate... all you have to do is claim it.... to get to the Gate you have to follow God's rules...... if you have any questions about the basics of all this you may email me.... I don't got all the answers... but one honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability...

At the risk of being insulted here goes my best explaination.
In Genesis God plainly states the prnalty for sin is death. When man sins his punishment is death and a one way ticket to hell. That is what is deserved according to God's law because God cannot physically look upon sin. When Jesus died on the cross he paid that price. He took upon himself death so that if we accept him as saviour the price for sin has been paid by him. That allows all that accept him a physical death but a spiritual eternal life with him.

I can at least try to explain it somewhat. God gave His people His Law. By following that Law, they would be considered righteous. They did not -- really could not -- follow the law well enough to satisfy a perfectly holy God. He cannot tolerate any sin in His presence because He is perfectly holy. If you have ever once in your life sinned, you are guilty and cannot be in God's presence. All of us have sinned. Jesus Christ was the only one who ever lived a perfectly sinless life. Because He had no sin of His own (perfectly sinless, even as a man) He could offer to pay the penalty for our sins. He did that on the cross. Anyone who sins (yes, every human) is guilty and truly deserves eternal punishment -- whether we agree with it or not, really. By accepting Christ's sacrifice on our behalf, we can receive His perfect righteousness. My sin is credited to His account -- He died to pay for it -- and His righteousness is credited to mine. Wow. That really is good news. I'm a Christian and a sinner, but I'm a sinner who's been forgiven and is now righteous before God.
If you're really trying to understand it and have questions, please feel free to email me by clicking on the name under my avatar. I hope you do understand that He did this out of love, and we follow Him and His ways out of love and gratitude. We're not trying to earn His love or be good enough to get into Heaven. Both of those are totally impossible. We who follow Christ and His ways are doing so to show our great love and thank Him for His even greater love to us. I hope that makes sense somehow. I don't explain it very well. Please write if you have questions and I'll try to answer. God bless you as you seek.

I never understood that either. Did he know he was going to die ahead of time and walk into it anyway ( I don't see this as sacrifice , but rather suicide)? Or did he have no idea and was just murdered without a purpose in mind?
