Propylene glycol is an additive used in anti-freeze solutions and some cosmetics.Ingesting this compound would cause heart & kidney and liver failure,even blindness..Brain damage,seizures,and possible death.Hope you don't try this as a " mixer"with your drinks.Take care. SW RNP

It is approved by the US FDA for use in food, so it has at least been screened for toxicity. The risk of harm depends on how much exposure a person has. If someone were to eat large amounts of the chemical all at once, or eat small amounts continuously for a long period of time, there could be liver or kidney problems.

It is also likely (but not documented) that some small percentage of the population will lack enzymes to eliminate the product, and those people will not know there's a problem until its too late.
