Sometimes, but most of the time people go to bars to pick up for the short term...
Meeting people through friends, or socialising are more likely to source people who are genuinely interested.

Sure.. it can to various degrees (male or female.. been there done both) Cant say that its ever developed in to a live in situation (I've only had 3 of those, none met in a bar) But year long friendly casual realationships SURE.. still friends etc with the majority of em when i see em even to this day..
Couldda worked out LTR in a few instances perhaps.. just the timing and situations etc never quite got on the same page...
But theres always that odd few that YIKES! RUN as well...
Bar is OK for me.. I DO LIKE MY SCOTCH hahaha

I think it depends on the people's intentions and what sort of bar.
If you got to the trendy club to get wasted out of your mind... it's probably going to be a one night stand. Or the person will be too embarassed to call back because they were so wasted.
If you get to know someone at the local watering hole where everyone knows everyone else and you can actually hear yourself talk, there's a good chance it's more than a fling if you guys can carry on a discussion for a while and actually click with the person.

I don't think so because whom ever you meet at a bar or club would just turn out to be a fling or one night stand.

Female-- it depends on how you meet the person.. and whether you actually like them or not. If you really like each other, it could work out! Good luck

Only death is certain in this world. Everything else is uncertain. We have to experiment, and heuristically find out. The outcome may depend much on the quality of your strategy, on the strategies of the involved ones.

YES IT CAN WORK OUT. I MET MY HUSBAND OF 14 YEARS IN A BAR. I WOULD SAY IT IS NOT REALLY THE NORM BUT IT DEPENDS WHAT THE PEOPLE INVOLVED ARE LOOKING FOR.

I NEVER found a real person at one and the couples who did and are still together are probably fall down alcoholics anyway--I say people like them deserve each other!
