i have a HP photosmart C3180 all in one printer and i reallllly want to scan this picture onto my computer but every time i put the picture on the scanner and close the lid and click the button nxt to start scan nothing happens...please help!!!

make sure the printer is connected properly to the computer. If it is, try reinstalling the HP software from the CD. It should only take a few minutes to reinstall.

Have you just installed IE8 or even IE7. My HP psc wont operate properly with 7 or 8 and I was advised to go back to IE6 by HP. My printer is 5 years old. There are compatability issues with some printers it would seem. I can only suggest you email them to find out. Good luck

HI first of all i would like to know that have you install the drivers and software properly which it is coming with printer to your PC.
if yes it is very easy . you can press the Scan button in printer control pane and stat Scan. if cannot you can scan using software it self but i would like to tell you that you have to have even little idea about scanning the document

What program are you trying to scan the program into. If it is a photo program you can start the scan from File>Import>scanner(or twain device). If you want to scan the photo into word use Insert>Picture>From Scanner... if these do not start up your scanner then you may not have installed the drivers. ... HP often installs a control panel for its devices if such a control panel is not available you may not have installed things properly.

go to "my computer" and there should be a scanner icon on the bottom of the screen, click it and go from there.
