Maybe the Mormons and Muslims see advantages in polygamy that we have yet to appreciate.

What ever floats your boat when it comes to your personal life should be legal. As long as it does not hurt anyone and everyone involved is happy, so be it.

That is a point I have been bringing up to anyone who will listen.

If we redefine marriage to include one between two men or two women, why should we stop there? What if two consenting adults who are brother and sister want to get married? What about their rights? And why does a marriage only have to be between two people? Why not three or four? Once we start playing fast and loose with the definitions of words, our basic rights are at risk. We either keep the definition of marriage or we open the flood gates. If the gays want a civil union, let them have it, but do not call it a marriage.

I think that polygamous marriages would be great. I would love to have another women in my marriage. It would be an extra person to help around the house, extra income, and someone to talk to while my husband was deployed. A multiple marriage can be beneficial to all involved. By the way I am neither Muslim or Mormon.

Becoming legal around the world? Funny, last time I checked same sex marriages were pretty illegal across the world, unless you count civil unions.

Secondly, why would one lead to another?

Thirdly, quite a lot of your famous Biblical characters were polygamysts. What's your problem?

If there were a way to solve the legal inheritance and property issues, and if all parties involved were amenable to the idea, why not?

What do same sex marriages have to do with multiple marriages? Why should the one lead necessarily to the other?
That doesn't make any sense...

lookn2cjc: That's your god, not ours. If you're willing to hurt others because of what you believe your god wants, the main difference between you and the 9/11 terrorists is only how far you're willing to go.

Maybe that will be the next sin that runs rampant. Then next we can make murder legal too. Get me the petition.

I think all of your slippery-slope arguments suck.
