we don`t swear on anything .law and religion are separate things you just have to swear to tell the truth and thats it
the courts are hardly full of born again Christians and the rest would swear on there own granny and still lie for the main part

If its anything like an Australian court they are more likely to make an affirmation instead. Courts used to have the Koran, etc for all of the different religions but there are too many, and ultimatly too many oaths for the Court Officers to remember so now if you don't believe in god you can make an affirmation - promising to tell the truth but without promising to god

Good question! They should swear on the Koran, but the bible holds the old testament which features in the Koran too.

They don't swear on anything. It's not right for Muslims to do that. The Qur'aan is not used for such purpose to be swore on. The Qur'aan has rights, rights which should never be taken away. So therefore, Muslims, in court, do not swear on the Qur'aan nor the Bible, and they are not/should not be told/forced to. Be only swear by Allaah.

What ever a person`s religion is , they swear on the book of that religion , if a person has no religion then they swear an oath to the court !

good question, as when i've been to court 50% of the people on trial had muslim names.

it obviously the Koran though or they can be sworn in via another method.

the Quran. and they also say I swear by almighty Allah instead of almighty God when taking their oath. All faith groups are provided with their relevant religious text to place their hands on when they go to court.
