Do you check it with the car running or not running, and if running does it need to be in park or neutral?

Find the trasmission fluid dipstick, wipe the stick, re dip it, then check the level again. Notice the color of it too. If it doesnt have any red in it then its really old.

geopmike// there is a small fill plug on top of transxerse on the drivers side // unscrew that plug tale small piece og wire slid it in hole bout 2 inches// if level is not up to 2 inches// use only 5 weight oil and fill it up to 2inches from the top // no higher or youll blow the seals out of transverse// good luck// not running
