Actually, their religion may allow polygamy but US laws do not. If Mormon men continue to practice polygamy, they will have to answer to the law.

You really need to read your history books. In order for Utah to become part of the union the Mormons had to give up polygamy(the many wives thing). And if you would further educate yourself then go to the bible and you will see that many of the prophets also had many wives, there was a specific reason for polygamy. You can have as many wives as you want, but you will have to pay the consequences for it, in the Mormon church you will be excommunicated. Why would you want the headache anyways?

They have it written into their religion and say if they're not allowed to marry multiple wives it's discrimination. Also, when the boys in the group grow up they're usually forced out because the older more powerful men want to marry the young girls. It's really sick. A lot of sexual abuse goes on too. This is only with the extremest Mormons that cut themselves off from society so they can get away with what they're doing.

What is the Church’s position on polygamy?

Answer:
In 1998, President Gordon B. Hinckley made the following statement about the Church's position on plural marriage:

"This Church has nothing whatever to do with those practicing polygamy. They are not members of this Church. . . . If any of our members are found to be practicing plural marriage, they are excommunicated, the most serious penalty the Church can impose. Not only are those so involved in direct violation of the civil law, they are in violation of the law of this Church."

At various times, the Lord has commanded His people to practice plural marriage. For example, He gave this command to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon (Doctrine and Covenants 132:1).

In this dispensation, the Lord commanded some of the early Saints to practice plural marriage. The Prophet Joseph Smith and those closest to him, including Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball, were challenged by this command, but they obeyed it. Church leaders regulated the practice. Those entering into it had to be authorized to do so, and the marriages had to be performed through the sealing power of the priesthood. In 1890, President Wilford Woodruff received a revelation that the leaders of the Church should cease teaching the practice of plural marriage (Official Declaration 1).

I hope that this answers you questions that we do not have more than one wife.

Are you even married, having multiple wives has been the downfall of many men throughout history, the jealousy and inability of man to take care of them properly as a wife should and have the right to not be neglected. Mormons are a cult .

Officially Mormons no longer subscribe polygomy. Also the many wives provisions usually also require that a man be able to support many wives...

I disagree its a good thing. Note that in every polygamous culture the first thing the men build is the women's quarters so the men don't have to deal with the squabbling for placement, favor etc.

The penalty for polygamy is to have more than one mother in law.

Its also an unstable social situation, if one assumes the population is 50/50 men/women

who are mormons ,its written in islam &
u dont understand it's significance , besides many muslims know this & they keep one wife for his whole life though ,,, this possibility has its rule to control it , if a man can be equally fair to his two or more wives , & if not he must have only one & it's wrong to have more if u can't treat them equally fair ...
u see , the increasing number of women births over men , makes it harder for the woman to marry a single man , so if she finds someone married but he can treat her & his current wife good , there's no obstacle in marrying him ... understand

Mormons have different doctrines.i met someone who is a mormon and gave me a book. The author of this book is Joseph Smith. It is different from the Bible. The teachings are not thesame. They are allowed to have more than one wife because they don't believe the teachings of Jesus Christ. And also this mormon friend of mine everytime we talk i never heard her say God bless you! She always say good luck to you. They believe reincarnation. Born again Christian believer don't believe in reincarnation.I haven't read about reincarnation in the Bible.
I n the Bible it stated that we have only one wife/husband.Extra marital relationship outside marriage is immorality, which is a sin.

I am all for just two people in a relationship. But when it comes to polygamy, it makes more sense for one woman to have many husbands. fewer children to support. more logical sexually. and it gets a little old having men always controlling things. be better if woman got to try having the priviledges for a change
