Do females get a period? One of the girls is suddenly smelling the others bottom and always a fight ensues to the point that the other one is bleeding.

They are fighting because they have reached maturity and they pose a threat to each other, reproductively. I suggest separating them, or getting a bigger cage so they can have private areas.

i might want to definately keep your one hamster out of the cage that has your different hamsters in it. i'm sorry to hearken to that your hamster that you got a month in the past were given harm. in case your different hamsters are responsible on your one hamster's harm does it sound like a sturdy theory to positioned that hamster in with the different 2 hamsters again? NO IT doesn't!!!! reality be advised, even as 2 hamsters are responsible for yet another hamster's harm this is not in any respect a sturdy theory to positioned the hamster in with the different hamsters again. I used to own a minimum of 6 roborowski hamsters and all of them were given alongside wonderful, yet i imagine that that change into because I presented them desirable. i imagine that your 2 roborowski hamsters weren't presented to the single which you got a month in the past desirable. i wish this permits. sturdy success such as your hammies!!!! ~Meggie Rothe~

my son had a hamster and he wanted to breed him so we got a female she was not a nice one, she had babys and kept fighting with hammy the male hamster and we seperated them. We had had another female who had been very nice and we were going to breed with hammy and she got ill and brought her to the vet and and he said she was ill and not to breed her, so we didn't. Pricess the mean one was just mean, some have bad personality's, but i think you shouldn't keep 2 females in the same cage together they feel threatened by each other, is what my vet told me.

hamsters are kind of like betta fish -- no matter what anyone tells you they are VERY territorial and are best by themselves. the smaller varities of hamsters are supposed to be social but there are way too many reports that they aren't when they mature. i think pet stores have hamster maturity down to a science because they always have multiples in a tank.

this happend to me!!! it is because they are now mature and they pose a threat to each other....reproductively. I suggest you separate them right away! buy a new cage and put one of the 2 hamsters in it!
