real,

Do you mean Delorean, the mid-engined, two seat sports car with a stainless steel body, featured in the Back To The Future movies?

They were (and I believe still are) made by Delorean Motor Corp. The founder of that company, I believe his name was John Delorean died I think 1-2 years ago.

The gull-winged Delorean came out in the early to mid eighties and are still quite popular.

If you mean the DeLorean automobile, they were the brainchild of John DeLorean, and only made from 1981-83.

The car was the DMC-12 manufactured by DMC (DeLorian Motor Company). The name "DeLorian" came from John Z. DeLorian, the company's founder. They were made between 1981 and 1983. For more info on the original DeLorian: www.engology.com/eng5delorian.htm

There is new company called DeLorian but I'm not sure that they make new DeLorian cars. http://www.delorean.com/

I think you mean the DeLorean, and they don't make them anymore. John DeLorean, the designer of the car, passed away several months ago.

As in "You turned a DeLorean into a time machine!?"
I'm not actually sure, the first answer sounds like he knows what he's talking about though.
