Every time I buy a packet of sugar free chewing gum these days, it's in pellet form, rather than stick form. I prefer the sticks because when finished one could put them inside the foil wrappers, avoiding getting them stuck to things. Also, the taste seemed to last longer, and the texture was better. Anyone know why gum in stick form no longer exists?

The pellet form is less susceptible to damp etc. because of the hard outer shell. It also saves on packaging, which eliminates some of the garbage tossed around...but now we have nothing to wrap the used gum in. Personally I can't stand pellet-gum, you're right about the texture.

I still see them around as well, but I think that the pellets are becoming more popular because they are in a slimmer case and easier to transport in a pocket or something than the stick gum. I still like the stick gum though. The flavor does last longer.

That's strange because just the other day I had a stick of Orbit gum. But, I have noticed they don't make as much sticks of gum anymore. Just in pellet form. It does exist but maybe just not as much.

they had to spend extra money packaging it. The less money they spend on production, the more profit. It's just another scam, theyre all after our money.
