It was actually the Reed Sea, which in translation became the red Sea.
Either way it was a body of water in Egypt.
They then crossed the Jordan River into the Holy Land Israel.

The Red Sea was parted and they crossed on dry land. The water then came back over the Egyptian army as they followed them and drowned them all. It was not a small little inlet or it was not low tide or anything that the naysayers try to make out. It was a grand miracle. Someone once told someone else that the Israelites crossed at low tide and the water was only a couple of inches deep and that was what happened and they just thought it was a miracle but, then the person who he was telling this to started smiling and saying "Glory to God!!! It's a bigger miracle than what we thought!!! Pharaoh's entire army drowned in only 2 inches of water!!!

That was 3560 years ago, the history channel said it had to be the Reed sea and not the Red sea.
Joshua took them over Jordan [ after the death Deut.34:7 of Moses age 120 in 40th year ], in chapter 3 of Joshua, at Josh 5:6,1012; Ends 40 years from Exodus.

While some would say Moses parted the Red Sea, it was actually the Sea of Tranquility, which is located on the moon. Anyone that believes the exodus story is definitely Looney. Get it?(looney, lunar, sea of tranquility) I hate to have to explain my jokes to fundies.
