You can be Friends. She has a bf ok good maybe if it don't work between the 2 of them you 2 can get back togther. But from my experience getting back with an ex is not always the best. It can sometimes be very harmful. You can get hurt or something so not always is it right to get back with the ex. there's that 1% trhat it could work but the 99% chance that it's best that you stay friends and see how things go.

There are two ways this is being played out:
1. That was a gratuitous courtesy call to say hi.
2. She was checking your pulse because she has been thinking about your proposition.
Either way, call her up and thank her for the call. To the point works really well in my world as I don't want to waste time beating around the bush. But do it tactfully.
"I appreciate you calling, but the meaning, if there is one, has been on my mind. Did you call so we can work on keeping things friendly between us, or is there something else - i.e. my suggestion we talk about working on us again?" Be prepared to respond to an answer you may or may not want to hear.
Good luck!

Well, just as she said, she wants to be friends. I say your ex's are ex's for a reason, but there are some people that stay friends with their ex. Maybe shes also keeping her options open. She'll keep you as a friend and if things dont work out in the relationship shes in now, she always has you to fall back on. Its your decision though if you want to remain friends with her.

Dude, she is keeping her options open if case things do not work out with her current man. Also, if they get into a really bad argument and not speak to each other, she has your number to "releive" of her stress. Dude, you are the pinch runner or the releiving pitcher in baseball, you do not get to play the whole game only when you are need in key plays. This is you and her situation, do not expect anything more than that, keep your options open with other girls.

It's an old woman's ploy which means she wants you to be her hedge (be on her back burner), unless something goes wrong with her current relationship. Be smart, accept that she is no longer available, and move on with your life. She doesn't really want to be your friend. She's manipulating you.

She was probably just checking in. Also feeling bad that you want to be with her and she said no. Sometimes people don't think it might hurt if they call and check in. It might also be that things are not going as well as she thought that it would.

Be assured that every time she has a quarrel with #1, you'll have someone to talk to. Just make sure you stay home in case she needs you.
