My father offered me pot (yes, "pot" as in marijuana) if I go to Catholic church. Don't get me wrong, I love smoking pot! But it seems morally wrong.
I don't believe in God, and I don't like the way Catholics conduct their services. Should I just take the stupid pot, go to church and be happy?

To cheiro:

Yes, but only if it's not in a church. ;)

no, I speak from experience (well, not exact, but close enough). When I was a teenager my mother offered me money to go to church. "no strings attached." I was miserable while I was there, and she was upset when it didn't result in a conversion. You know that's what he's looking for, and you know it's not going to happen. There's no way that can end well. There's other ways to get pot. In the end, this will be too much of a hassle to be worth it, and you'll wish you'd just bit the bullet and bought your own bag.

If you cannot figure this out for yourself, and think that pot is not morally wrong. I have a bridge in Brooklyn, NY, I would like to sell you.

Pot is wrong, the Catholic church is wrong. If you don't believe in God, what do you believe in? Man is the moon marigold?

No, don't take the pot. Take a look outside some dark night. Then ask yourself how all those stars got there, and who keeps them from falling ? Or who guides the birds on their southern migration every year? P.S. You will never be happy without God.

Think about life, not pot. Life is legal, pot is not.

This is a dysfunctional situation, yes, but it shows that your dad really loves you by offering you a bribe that you would like. It might be better to refuse the pot and go anyway, just to show him that you don't have to be dysfunctional. You can make choices without having to be bribed. Also it would prove to your father that your life doesn't revolve around pot, which I assume that is the point he is trying to make. Is pot the center of your life?

lol. Now I have heard it all. You do sound like a desperate case. I can see why he would do that if it were the only way. Sure. Go and be open to the Spirit. Don't smoke the pot till later. Much later.

How does your dad feel about pot? Does he like it himself?

Personally, I wouldn't take it from him, but, I'm stubborn.

If u are only traveling a church, then i've got self assurance the quantity is as much as u. My Pastor used to tell travellers to no longer provide something cuz their tithes belonged to their living house church. If u are seeking for for a church & are giving no tithes to all people, i could say provide your 10% to the church u r traveling then! =)

that is going for the wrong reasons, dont go unless you are convicted to go because you feel you need a savior in Jesus Christ for your sins. I would not suggest the catholic church though, if your going to try a church try a non denominational church or baptist or something. its not about going to church anyways that is religion. it is about believing in jesus christ.

your dad is crazy. he should keep the pot to himself and let your soul go to hell.
