i'm looking for a tv from the range of 40" to 55" in a price range of x<1200. It just for everyday vewing at my house...so what should i buy? and what do you need for a projection tv? why are they so inexpensive? Thanks

i think CRTs are almost obsolete...you can still find a few of them in stores and they are by far the cheapest because they're an older technology than plasma or DLP. DLPs and CRTs are all projection tvs and are cheaper because they're less expensive to manufacture and are an older technology than plasma. i don't know that you need anything for a projection tv that you don't need for a plasma. from what i've heard DLP tvs are more reliable than plasma and you don't have to worry about burn marks on the screen, which is a problem with plasma. as far as picture, just go to a store and decide what you think looks nicest. my friend actually just got a 1080i 60" Hitachi CRT for $750 and it is very very nice. personally, i like DLPs.
