If he asked you to a movie and you're not sure what his intentions are, agree to go with him. See how he acts. You would probably be able to tell if his intentions were going out with you as a date or a friend. Or you could always ask one of his friends.

if it's a solo date, then yeah he wants to get to know you on the intimate level. if he makes things casual then he probably wants to get to know you before making the decision to ask you out again. guys are less confident these days, so if you like him-be open about it without being oblivious. try those little flirty things us girls do and see how he responds.
