i do understand this antichrist is anyone who imitates, is a false christ or denies Jesus is the Christ, but "the" famous antichrist in revelation is to come after the rapture, when i read the bible i see a flood of evidence that shows evidence of the rapture.

people who are manipulative will most likely present themselves in a likeable guise. Bible prophecy is a reflective account of the human condition which has become dogma through political needs. To distill the whole of humanity down to simply good and evil is the single most flawed as pect of the christian faith (I was raised a catholic by the way,) the single god religions rejected and vilified the subtlety and worldliness of the pagan religions because they accepted all aspects of life. The devil may be based upon the horned god of celtic mythology who was primarily concerned with shamanistic ritual, sexuality and death - this does not make him a bad person, but it does make him a damn sight more interesting than the average catholic priest.
In other words, forget about your christ and your antichrist, it is a simple metaphor: 'that which you seek will come at a price,' if you want eternal salvation you must pay with eternal damnation and this is the problem with polarised spiritual beliefs - they don't work kids. The whole revelations thing is a very elaborate self fulfilling prophecy because fear breeds negative thought and negative thought creates conflict in the soul and this is the route created by John's fabled book of revelations. If the same story had been written in a comic book we would not give it a second look, but because it is in the "holy book" we believe it will all come true and our neurosis is the oil which greases these wheels of self fulfillment. Yes governments and individuals undertake dispicable deeds, but there is always a reson, and that reason is pragmatic one, not a result of something written by a bible prophet...take control.

Here's a bit of interesting info.
These are some teachings of Islam on the last days from http://www.beliefnet.com/boards/message_list.asp?discussionID=432077
"Jesus, the son of Mary pbuh, will be seen decending from the sky..." "Isa [Jesus] will go from place to place consoling the people that were oppressed and persecuted by the Dajjal and by the grace of Allah no infidel will be left."
"... a very strange creature will come out of it and it will talk to the humans and will traverse the whole earth with great speed marking the foreheads of the believers with Ase-e- Musa [the stick of Moses pbuh] wqhich will brighten their faces. and on the necks and noses of the non- believers it will put a black seal with the ring of the Prophet Sulayman pbuh which will darken their faces. after completing this job the strange creature will disappear."
We have 1.3 billion people waiting for a "Jesus" to return that is not the Jesus that we Christians know and is going to kill the infidels. And, we have a "strange creature" running all over the world marking muslim's foreheads.

The concept of the rapture is in the word of God. This is very important for Christians to understand.
As for the anti-christ, yes, he will deceive the world.

just don't be fooled into thinking that the modern literal translation of the "word" is the truth. that would mean you might just be following the antichrist in the name of christ. wouldn't that be interesting if we found out that most christians are following the wrong path and that path is led by the antichrist.

There will never be an anti Christ. This is superstitious drivel. There can be good imitations, however, and their strongest supports will be the religious because they are the most gullible and easily fooled. Bush is a good example; he says he is religious and has pushed faith-based institutions but the truth is he is in place to delivery tax money and hands-off treatment to the big corporations. The faith based stuff is really a conduit to funnel money to right wing supports of the neo-cons.

Thank you for once more pointing out religious dogma that everyone from kindergarten to graduate school has been exposed to for hundreds of years. What you have revealed is nothing that hasn't been rehashed so many times it's tiresome and boring!

The CockRoach King came as a divine larvae to his insect brethern, but tricked them into believing he was the sacred butterfly of the Underworld. Nuff said.
