Not sure whether to get LCD or Plasma. Anyone recommend any models between £550 and £650?

Whatever you do get an LCD, they are better by far over Plasma.

Don't rely on make and model recommendations, do go and see the same set in different places. Different shops show their sets with different settings and a bad looking picture in one shop may be brill in another.

If you are in a good freeview area, then get one with a digital tuner built in. That way even your terrestrial TV will be at its best.

Up to 46" lcd are far better. Above this some people say plasma have a very slight edge. If you intend gaming on it avoid plasma. The best on the market at present is the Sony Bravia range.

I don't think you can find a plasma in the 32" size anymore. LCD is your best bet. Check on the Sony 32" Bravia XBR1.

Whatever you but get a LCD HD TV because i think they are better. Plasma tvs have to be pumped with gas like every 4 years, whereas LCD is better quality, less hassle and i think a sharper picture

LCD will last longer and give off less heat, and for that price range you'd be hard pressed to find a good quality plasma.

Go for a Samsung or Sony (most Sony LCD's are re-badged Samsung as are Akai)

LCD. They don't make plasmas that small. Good HD Ready 32" LCDs with integrated Freeview: 32LB1D, 32LD9700, 32WLT66, LE32R74 and LT32DR7.

Try a 32" sony bravia LCD. Comes with built in freeview box and has component, scart, vga and HDMI connections on the back. Only thing i couldn't connect to mine was my PS1 (as it is so old).
