how do i get my dog not to take a dump on the carpet and not to be afraid of me ?

housebreak your dog,,, and stop scolding it for dumping on the carpet.... he obviously has not been trained yet... patience is key and so is crate training , frequent trips outside. proper nutrition etc.

Well, try this....IF you are serious about doing this right.
When the dog does its bussiness on the carpet...do NOT say anything...instead of using your voice, use a can with some pennies in it and shake it near the dogs head.
THEN take the bussiness OUTSIDE and praise the dog and pet him.
This should take no more than 4 time. Also, you may try a more expensive dog food (Iams) as this tends to be easyer digested and results in fewer accidents.

in what why have you correct it? if you yell at it when it potty when you where not there it will not understand why you are mad at it. if you can not watch the dog please buy it a dog crate and start house breaking the dog. you need to confine it to a small area also to help with house breaking . to help it not to be afraid of you sit on the floor and just talk to it and try to give it some real nice treat. if you stand over it when it is afraid it will be more afraid of you.

A spray bottle worked fine for our dog, when she was a puppy she was put in the bathroom when nobody was home, granted the bathroom was like nine foot by nine foot. Otherwise just squirt the dog with water.

OK it's actually very easy if you are patient: after every meal take him/her outside and stay outside for a few minutes. it'l know very fast what do ypu want from it.
no 2. stay with him/her more, don't yell and don't do sudden moves...
