How much money will I earn if I dicovered a cure for cancer?

sorry dude but i think the cure has already been found, and the discoverer of the cure is quite likely dead probably executed. or he was paid so much money--nah he is dead and the cure is locked away forever because if the cure ever goes public it would put a hell of a lot of people out of work-you think about all the people involved in cancer research. the cancer charitys alone are a multi-billion dollar industry. THen there are those who make the equipment that's used for cancer research, the doctors and scientist who study cancer-there go all the grants if a cure goes public. Heck it can even affect communities economies that have have cancer hopsitals. The cure for cancer would seriously hurt our economy, sorry to say.. every few years though the powers that be thro the public a bone or two by releasing a new and wonderful drug to thwart some specific cancer, or they come up with a new treatment.. They do this to justify all the money that cancer brings in. I mean seriously look at the diseases that were
cured long before Television, the internet or even cars for that matter. You would think that there would be a cure for cancer by now wouldn't you? I think there is, but we will never see it go public. just my opinion folks.

First of all, I doubt that there is one simple cure for all cancers! Researchers have developed many different ways of fighting many different cancers, but the same method doesn't work for everything.

If you were a grad student working for a prof, you probably wouldn't make much money discovering the cure at all! Even if you were a professor at university and your work caused cancer to be cured, you probably wouldn't make THAT much.
However, if you were on the business end that SOLD the cure or a doctor that APPLIED the cure, you might get a lot more.

I'm not saying that doctors and pharma companies don't deserve the money, they spend SO MUCH TIME and help so many people! I'd rather they get rich than the people who invented the ipod!!

Most people who pursue that goal do so not for the money, but for purely altruistic purposes. The cure for any of the myriads of cancers that plague mankind have been decades in the making, and the funds available for research is finite. The dollars available for scientists therefore must be efficiently spent, and that means only those with the best facilities and the finest minds get the money to continue their work.

Before you see dime ONE from anyone, you'll spend some major bank of your own. Most companies would insist on a PhD, which, depending on the University of your choice, can run into many tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention at least twelve years of hard work and internships before you get picked up as an assistant at a research facility.
