Have you ever had any experiences with anyone who may have predicted the future, and was there any validity to the prediction..?

Have you ever had any psychic experiences that impressed you or prevented you from harm or helped you in any way?

The sixth sense...any legitimacy to any of it or just hogwash...?

We are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

I have a lot of what people call psychic or paranormal experiences, but like some one told me, it's a gift. No, we are not possessed nor can we predict when God will come. I have omens when harm will come to me but I don't know exactly what will happen. Also when a relative passes away about the 3rd day after the funeral, they usually come to between 2 and 5 times before I stop dreaming about them. The reason why this stuff doesn't work in a lab is because we can't control nor do we know when our next experience will be. No I'm not making this up and yes I'm able to tell the difference between these "visitations" and other dreams. Yes these are visitations, I also met some else who had the same experience and I told her you've had a paranormal before she agreed with shock in her face that I knew. She never told her husband until I brought it out then he knew. Once again I'm not making this up and yes to prove it I would go on a polygraph machine.

Here I expected to get all kinds of thumbs down, I received 2 up. One yesterday and one today. Believer(the second person after me) I don't think the author of the question meant fortune tellers or crystal ball gazers. Yes this does open the doors to evil and I have gone to card readers out of curiosity and a lot of what card readers say did come true. They don't have any real interest in you just money. I think what was asked is, is the sixth sense real or just a hoax. There is a differnc between sixth sense, paranormal and pshycic or what I call "gifted". The sixth sense tells us some thing is wrong or going to happen get out now and I wished I listened because I'm really messed up now for not listening.Paranormal is when we see ghost and have a spooky experiences that terrorizes you. Pshycic or what i call gifted ,you have omens(some thing bad is or some thing good is going to come you way) or your able to see into the future with the aid of tarot cards or crystal balls. It just comes to you and you have no control of when it'll happen.

If any one is interested, you can email me and I'll share some of my experiences.

The term Psychic really means just observing what is there. If you are able to see what most people miss, it appears that you have some mystical power. That's not supernatural, it's clarity and insight. Of course it's real- but fairly rare and usually misunderstood.

The term Clairvoyant means seeing beyond the present information to another time or place. That would be supernatural, and no demonstration of this has ever been done in a controlled setting to validate it. It is hogwash.

A very good statistician can predict very well but not 100%, ie. Mr. Spock for the Star Trek fans. Another example is the economists, armed with good data, can generally predict a trend, again not 100% but better than a common person. If anyone claimed that they can see the future, they must be a time traveler who should not and probably could not alter the future by physically changing the past.

Id like to call it intuition.
Sometimes you get a feeling you cant explain and that you cant have any reasons to feel the way you do but usually that impression was real.It appears that some people really is more sensitive to this stuff then others.
In my family, for example, usually they know when they are going to die and they say good bye to everyone, and none of them were ill nor anything. I have no idea how this can happen, but it does.
Personally, I have had this type of experiences that has kept me from harm and helped me by it was just intuition, stop doing something or keep away feelings and later on realise I was right. The most impressive one to me it was one day when I was suppoused to go travel with someone and I was very excited to go, something that morning told me not to go and I just didnt feel in the mood, later on that day I received a phone call telling me they have had a huge car accident. They were very damaged and hurt, the car was completly lost. I have always thought that I was not suppoused to be there.
Good day!

A few times some of my friends claimed they could read palms or whatever. Other times they play card games where it predicts your future. Here's what I think. I think that people who say they are psychics really aren't. They are just acting like it. I don't believe in it at all. That's why I feel bad for the people on the Montel show who actually buy that fake stuff from Sylvia.

I sincerely hope you won't give in to the temptation to take this road. God knows your needs, and it would be far better for you to trust Him and seek His will—because His will is always perfect.

Why do I advise you against seeing a fortuneteller/psychic? One reason is because you could well be throwing your money away; how do you know this person isn't a fraud? I saw an article a few years ago about the predictions some people had made at the beginning of the new year. They all claimed to be able to foretell the future—but by the end of the year almost none of their predictions had come true!

But you also could be opening yourself to spiritual forces and powers that do not come from God, but from Satan. This is why the Bible tells us to avoid occult practices of any type—including efforts to foretell the future. The Bible warns, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against ... the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12). I hope you will take this warning seriously.

Instead, I urge you to turn to Jesus Christ and ask Him to come into your life. God loves you, and Christ died for you. Don't turn down the wrong road, but turn to God and by a simple prayer of faith commit your life and your future to Jesus.

Some people that claim to have Psychic abilities really do have those powers. I have supernatural abilities. For instance, I can see colours in people's eyes like white, black, red, yellow, grey, and gold. I can even see people's souls protruding slightly from their bodies sometimes. I can see the colours of people's souls. The colour of people's souls demonstrates whether people are usually ethical/good or unethical/evil. I have other gifts as well. Note: I do not believe in Fortune Tellers... I believe that Fortune Telling is often a tool used by the devil.

Check out my question "Do you think the birth of the Red Heifers born in the 1990's is proof that the Messiah is coming soon?" Read my comment section. There is an important message for everyone.

NOTE: Watch the developments that take place in Israel related to a Temple that is to be built on the Temple Mount in the very near future. The Red Heifer's born are connected.

Hogwash. By mearly walking into a clairvoyant/psychic's shop, you are open to suggestion. The psychic will give you a generic 'reading' that they give to everybody. You hear what you want to hear and walk out feeling 'enlightened' that you've heard your future or contacted a loved one. They'll con the money out of you by Cold Reading. This is a technique used by ALL psychics to lead you into thinking that they are telling you something they couldn't possibly know. In fact you are giving them all the answers by your reaction and resposes.
They'll take advantage of your emotions and expolit deperate, vulnerbale people.
James Randi offered a million dollars to anyone who could conclusivley prove that they are psychic by taking part in a few simple tests. Not one 'psychic' is yet to take the cash.

Yes, I do, because I've known some personally as friends - those who have never charged for a reading, and who really are hesitant to use it at all, let alone for gain.

I greatly suspect folks like Sylvia Browne and John Edward, mainly because we have no way of validating their accuracy - though Sylvia suffered a big blow recently with the boy who had been kidnapped, and then found four (?) years later.
