......do you think it is possible for a person to fall in love with someone purely over talking on the internet (instant messanger) and on the phone without actually meeting face to face?
(bear in mind, they could still know how the othet looks because of pictures and webcam etc)

I believe you can have strong feelings for someone by having this kind of relationship but think love comes with meeting and getting to know the real person.

in this day and age i really don't think it makes any difference. Some people would argue that you can't fall in love with people on the Internet cause people lie on there. but to be honest people lie everywhere.You could know them for 10-15 years and they still lie. Nonetheless i prefer to take my chances in real life and actually be face to face with those liers than over the Internet. i think that some lies u can see for example age or body size etc. so my answer is NO.

Sometimes its easier to fall in love with someone without meeting them, we all tend to be a little more relaxed on the pc sat in our own surroundings at home! how people look is not always important we are told and on line we get to know people for who they are. (although there are some people out there that know and take advantage of this)
but yes you can feel a lot for people and fall in love

Sure, its possible. But it's also possible that you only fall in love with what they want you to know about them. After all, a person isnt going to tell you anything on an instant messenger that they don't want you to know.

Well iono maybe but even though you see them and stuff and you know how they look like you dont really know what theyre like i mean they could be just acting and stuff but if u really wana try and make it work then meet in person but with other people and try not 2 be alone and stuff cause that person could be a rapist or something

Absolutely not. It is only possible to build up a fantasy about how you think it would be to have a relationship that way. You have to spend time with someone to be in love with them, until then its a crush.

yea u getting 2 know each other by chatting you say things easier by txt etc some times easier than say over phone or face to face must be nice get such friend as you got good luck

Yes as long as you have been talking to him for over a year and know what he looks like.
There are successful internet relationships. Not all the time, it's bad. You just have to be careful.

yes, i met my bf over the phone thru a friend and we talked for a month before we met in person. i knew before we met in person that this guy was who i wanted to be with. i had only seen a pic of him thru text msg. so my answer to you is YES! :)

but make sure u have ur wits about u.
it's easy 2 deceive people, pictures can b staged & web-cams can only supply a limited snap-shot of imformation.
