Let's see now, stress can cause high blood pressure, tension headaches, excess cortisol, excess adrenaline, irritability, unfocused thought, depression, drinking and drugs, estrangement, marital breakup, heart disease, strokes, financial ruin, accidents, violence, wars and general mayhem, to list a few side effects.

Yes stress can cause side effects. Many studies have been done that show the problems that stress can cause. Watch out for them.

Stress is terribly bad for one's body. It can ultimately cause high blood pressure, tension, bad stress over time can cause heart attacks. Please donot get upset with that comment but it's true. I suffer from stress myself and the best thing I've found for countermeasures is to workout. Healthy exercise like aerobics, walking, jogging, basketball, swimming, etc. Exercise causes the body to release it's own "tranquilzers". Serotonin is one substance released by the body during exercise. This accounts for that "feel good" feeling we get after exercise.

I get migraines too. Hot showers with the water spraying over my forehead help. Hot baths relax the muscles. Then there's medicine if the above does not work.
