Dont deny it, christianity brought about the Dark Ages!

You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those

Geez... just because you ran into one or two bad apples of a Christian, doesn't mean we're all like that. There is racism and a strong belief in gender roles everywhere. I'm a Christian, and I like the fact that my husband cooks in the kitchen most of the time, and I am not racist. Personally, I like to get to know people of different cultures or race or religion, because it's another opportunity to learn about other people. I try to love everyone as I should, and I think I do a good job with that, even though some people can make me angry. We are all human. you shouldn't generalize Christians, and you should recognize that there are plenty of non-Christians that believe what you have stated above. P.S. Tell us why you believe Christians brought about the Dark Ages. The reason why they are called the Dark Ages is simply because there is very little information on those years. Not because they were necessarily dark or evil.

Being a slave does not state Blacks or Whites, so don't get that wrong.
Blacks and Whites are not difference, just that Destney varies , your vision is not my vision, your part is not my part, this life in this world if a place where every one is to display their ability of understand and possibilities,..Blacks rules Whites rules but off different basics and place and at time.
Women are not made for kitchen alone, Women are what the bible call the Helper, it is stated that in every happy home the wife is the source of the happiness because she knows how to make her home, You don't expect the man to make food take care of the kids while the woman is out, but rather the woman does that,. women are not made for kitchen but rather they are the reserve power of the man.
Being a Slave and a master are two things, you don't expect to be a master when you work under someone, that person who have employed you is your master so you have to be loyal and respectful to him/her as the bible chapter you have stated and glad you know that.Your employer is your master and you as the worker is the Slave and you most obey every part of the rules guiding you else you will face the precaution/penalty.

Well, yes, there are. There are people who use all religions for evil means, just look at Warren Jeffs or David Koresh. These men abused children and women and also the men of their sects.

People might argue that those who run around quoting the Bible and then not following it are not Christians. I'd agree. But the fact is, anyone can say they are any religion and they "are", at least in their own minds.

I'd have to say anyone who didn't believe in equality of women and other races wasn't acting in a very "Christian" way, but I was raised in an environment where the pastor preached that women should not work outside of the home. Period. My mom did work and believe me, my dad wanted her to do it. We needed the money!

As far as racism goes, unfortunately many people of all colors are bigots. It's not just a "white" thing. Look at Louis Farrahkan.
Enough said.

Racism, sexism...they need to end. Only love will do it. Tolerance and acceptance are what we need. Not barriers of hate and fear.

I think you don't know anything about Christians. Alot of the TBN programs as well as other Xtian networks feature blacks and black churches equal to white. Not that anyone has to prove but some are Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, Myles Monroe, Frederick KC Price, plus many more all excellent speakers. Turn to TBN live PTL @7pm PT and prove yourself wrong. Oh, the dark ages, wait you'll see how crazy it gets when God is taken out of the world.

I am a Christian, and I totally disagree with those things. African Americans should have the same rights as we do...they are not of a lower class or race than we are. We are all equal in God's eyes. Also, women should be able to have jobs AND have the same rights too.

if you dont mind since you want to make a statement ,, i want to test you, show me one verse in the new testament that teaches the believer of today about blacks not having rights or the forced killing conversions of the dark ages. this is from sinful man not a believer that is following the teaching of scripture.

if they believe this then they are not true christians for Jesus himself said
Galations 3: 26. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,
27. for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Sure there are crazy people in all religions. Don't paint us all with the same brush though. Most of us are not like that.
