94 jeep wrangler 4cyl turns over wont start. tried crank sensor,map sensor etc. wires. help!

Fuel pump/tank

Those years had a recall for the fuel tanks. The plastic tanks would warp causing the pick up tube to seal against the bottom of the tank.

Oh, these are fun! Let me tell ya, I'm taking pity on anyone who has to deal with a Jeep that won't run right now. I just spent 3 days trying to make my own 88' run. FINALLY, it's going.

Here's what I learned.........All motors have to have three things......fire, fuel, and air. You need to make certain you have all of these. But you're missing at least one. First thing I would do is get under the Jeep and while someone else cranks it, listen for the fuel pump. (you can also use a test light to find out if the pump is "hot". The "hot" wire to mine is orange with a back stripe that goes directly to the fuel pump. The wire should carry 12 volts on crank and 8 or 6 or so on run) If all is good there, check to see if you have spark at the coil. I was told by a Jeep mechanic (a very good one, the one I finally went to) that a vacum leak will not keep it from running. I can't think of much right now, but I'd start there. Hope it helps.

you got to see if your getting fuel thats the only thing you probably havent checked. the best way to see if your getting fuel is have a buddy with you one of you cranks the motor while the other goes to the fuel rail and presses on the fitting that looks a lot like a bike tire nipple. if you dont get fuel then you got a bad pump so check that and if you do get fuel then you may have bad timing.

spray starting fluid into the throttle body if starts and then stops replace fuel filter if does the samething replace fuelpump if it doesnot start at all check for spark if no spark replace ing coil

they had a recall on that year because of the plastic gas tanks that warped,,have this checked out
