I am trying out for a pro team and I can get really nervous even though I am confident I have the ability to make it. My question is how do I control being nervous?

...the nervousness is result of self-projection. wanting to achieve an end and fore-seeing how you shall do/be/have it.

acceptance of the conditions which are beyond your control eliminates by accepting what is manageable from what is not manageable.

you have got this far by practice into personal management.

you will go beyond further by practice into personal management and not allow what is unmanageable to distract you from this personal management.

it is you ... and then it is you on a team. in that order.

not the other way around.

Find other things to do besides think about the tryouts. Remind yourself why you believe you will make the team so that you'll really feel confident.

Ask your doctor for a stage fright prescription of propanolol or Inderal. You take it one time for scheduled events.

It's only natural to be nervous, just practice more so it doesn't interfere with your performance
