I dont know how young you are and if you are allowed to have a boyfriend so it is hard to answer this question. If you are allowed to have a boyfriend it really isnt a problem...just tell them..maybe around the dinner table that you have met someone really nice and wanted to tell them about him...you dont have to say boyfriend because they will just assume that. If you are not allowed to date or have a boyfriend yet...then perhaps you better re-think...using that word...perhaps you could just call him a friend for now.

Katie your parents were also once your age so I'm certain that they'll take this news pretty well. They may suggest that you take things very slowly and not go around and say your in love etc. Your young and your heart will be broken many times throughout this lifetime and you will also be the one that is responsible for breaking others hearts. Be honest with your parents and hopefully they'll be open minded to this news.

That depends on how old you are?
If your a very YOUNG age teen, that would be a hard thing for your parents to take in,but if you're like an older teen or an adult, then I don't think you should feel like hesitating to let your parents know...? It's up to you.?

Well I guess it comes down to your age. 16 and over then its mom, dad I have a bf and Id like you to meet him. Hes really nice you'll like him. Most parents know its coming by that age, if ur younger then do the same thing but you may get a different responce, like a lecture saying ur to young but theyll understand.

Keep mentioning his name in converstion such as 'my friend..... says / thinks that' so they get used to him. Then tell them you really like him and you are going out with him. If possible introduce him so they get to know him -parents can be protective of their daughters. Once they see him as 'normal' like you they will chill out. I work in a secondary school so I often deal with teenagers and I know how parents think! You may find your parents are fine with it anyway and will appreciate you being honest with them.

Ask your parents if he can come over to study for a test. If they say yes; he can come over and you actually have to study...somewhere in the house that's public. Then you can see how your parents react to the guy. If they like him, let them know that he's your bf after he's gone.

OMG THAT'S DREADFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll be a sweet innocent virgin your entire life in your father's dreamworld. You'll date Johnny Depp, Hugh Grant and a royal prince in your mother's dreamworld (all at the same time, btw) and you'll win a Nobel prize in something or other.

Just tell them, they've been expecting it since the moment you popped out and squawled - trust me, I'm a father.

Drop hints that you "like" girls. Then when they finally find out that you have a boyfriend, they will be greatly relieved.

tell them. I am sure they won't mind.

As long as you're a teenager and you have a proper boyfriend ( who is nice looking and cares about how he looks, good student, etc ), they should have no prob with him
