Has a ridge across on them too.Should I file them down to flattened the toenails or is there a treatment for thick toenails?

hi there file them down but u can soak your feet then pat dry really good file them and always put power after you file. and cream . at less that is what I see the PODIATRY DO.AND ALWAYS DRY YOUR FEET AFTER EVERY BATH USE A SEPARATE WASH COTH FOR YOUR FEET THAN POWER.

Our nails do change as we age. Go ahead and "sand" them down. I know of no specific treatment but the next time you see your doctor, you might ask about this. You'll want to ensure that you haven't developed a fungus under the nail.

It sounds like a nail fungus. Ask the pediatrician.
