Steaming wont work, it makes you sweat and bring more oils to the surface, therefore enhancing the problem. The only way to fix mild to moderate acne is to wash your face twice a day with a cleanser, use a cleaning toner, and a medicated night cream. If that fails, then you might need a prescription because its obviously more severe.

Steaming is a great way to smooth the skin and clear the bacteria from your face. I steam three times a week. First you star by cleaning the face with a gentle cleanser I recommended a foam cleanser then bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Poor the boiled water into a bowl and cover your head with a towel and put your face over the bowl but make sure you still have air flow to breath. I steam for about eight minutes then wash my face again followed by a honey mask for about fifteen minutes then rinse with warm water and finally close pores with a toner and moisturize. I do this Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and it really smooths my skin and evens out my complexion and removes my acne because it is taking out the bacteria that is in your pores and under your skin.

Steaming is good for opening the pores but won't help with the acne. Go to the local mall and talk to some of the ladies of Clinique or other well known product line. They will give you simple routine that will eliminate it. Or use a very good old fashion remedy but it takes a little getting used to the smell. ALOE VERA. If you can get a leaf wash it will cool water and just remove the skin and apply the gel it has. It is very good and economical for many uses such as burns, insect bites, skin irration, sun burns, and acne.
Good luck......try it on a small area of your face to make sure you do not a reaction to it.

steaming is not exfoliating, but they both work really well to reduce acne. steaming opens your pores, which is good because acne is caused by dirt and bacteria that get trapped in your pores. exfoliating is gently taking off the dead skin cells on your face or body. this is good because those dead skin cells can clog your pores too. steam a few times a week and exfoliate 2 times a week. they sell exfoliating products at wal-mart in the face care isle. i use st. ives or the wal-mart brand works just as well. you might also want to try a facial cleanser and lotion that is made for acne prone skin.

that's not exfoliating. exfoliating is using a facial scrub and removing the dead skin cells so your "live" skin can breathe. steaming your face just opens up your pores, so not as much oil and dirt can get clogged.
exfoliating too many times isn't good too because it can irritate your skin and make the acne worse. i'm not sure how many times is good, though. also, tea tree oil does help!! it's very cheap. just put some on a cotton ball and wipe it on your face before you go to sleep. it helps kill the bacteria on your skin.

STEAMING OPENS THE PORES SO YOUR FACE IS CLEANSED BETTER.ITS BEST TO DO IT ONCE A WEEK,GET A GENTLE FACE WASH AND ADD A FEW DROPS OF THE TEA TREE OIL TO IT,IT WILL HELP MORE TO REDUCE THE INFECTION, RATHER THAN ADDING IT TO YOUR WATER.

Acne (not zits) can be due to the candida albicans fungus. Tea tree oil is said to be an anti-fungal. It should help. Yogurt, too, is said to help keep the candida albicans fungus under control.
For more info on candida albicans, check out www.hufa.org, the yeast link.
