If your hair is long use a straightener or use an anti-poof shampoo. Or take a bath a day before you are going to a party or special event.Or if you are lazy and likes to stink never take a bath unless your girlfriend tells you to.

Well are you letting it air dry, or blow drying it? That happens with my hair too, but I find that if I brush it when it's wet ONLY it won't get poofy, also if you research different companies 'reduce-frizz' products, you could probably find one which works for you.

Go to a salon and get a mild relaxer. Don't try to do this yourself at home. Or you can style your hair and use a gel to keep it in place, just make sure there's no alcohol in the gel or you'll wind up w/white flakes.

A good cut with short strands is one way out of this dilema.
A good product is Paul Mitchell "Straight Works" instead of having chemicals processed through your hair.
