I am thinking of getting a tatoo, I just dont know what to get. I am in the army so i was thinking of getting a military tatoo, or maybe something like a cross to show my faith in jesus to everyone. Or lastly what does everyone think about getting someones name tatooed on you. I was thinking of getting my daughters name or maybe my wifes name as a wedding band because im a medic and dont wear my ring at work because it gets in the way while putting on gloves and cleaning the blood out sucks.

Any thoughts appreciated

all of those are great ideas. tho i'm not a huge fan of wedding ring tattoos. military tattoos have such a rich american history. very cool whether you go with traditional style or a new school thing. it would be cool if you went to a custom tattoo artist and got a tattoo related to being a medic in whatever branch of military you are in. my husband is a paramedic on the fire department and both of his tattoos have to do with his profession.
i love crosses but you should definitely do something different and not do just a plain one dimensional cross. maybe something that looks like it is made out of stone with cracks in it and stuff.

the MOST important thing to consider is who you are going to get to tattoo you. there are some wonderful tattoo artists out there but there are also some horrible ones. you should check out my artist:

but if he isn't close to you, feel free to email me and i will help you find someone close to you who is worth the time and money to get a tattoo.
good luck!!

First of all, thanks for being a soldier. I appreciate it. Second, I think getting your daughters name as a tattoo is beautiful. The love of a parent is eternal, and there is no reason why you shouldn't advertise that. Lastly, you may want to think hard about getting your wife's name tattooed on your finger. You never know what the future holds, and, should you find yourself with another woman, think how she might feel about it. I know this from experience, and I'm not just referring to divorce. I wish you and your family the best in life!

It's hard for me...a stranger to tell you what you should permanently ink into your skin. I can tell you that if it has meaning to you.... you will be much less likely to have to get it lasered off later. I have been told that the skin on fingers grows and sheds faster and doesn't hold ink as well. Whatever your decision, be patient, take your time and look at lots and lots of tattoos and styles and Artists. A great place to start is www.tattooartists.org Once you have selected a tattoo or a style that you like select the best artist you can afford. You're going to have to live with this on your body for the rest of your life. Make it a piece of art..

My first tattoo was a small heart on my left hip. I love it!
I now have a cross on my left ankle. In the wood grain going down, it says "love" and on the two bars that hold it together says "faith" and "love".
I never wanted to get any names, except my children, because I will always be a mom. If my hubby dies, and I get re-married, it could lead to issues.
A military tattoo is always nice-- there are alot of really special ones out there that can signify your branch and that you are a medic.
By the way, THANK YOU for your service to our country!!

All my best to you!
