Well, you can give him a gentle hint that Valentine's Day is approaching and that you always consider that a special day for you and hope that he gets the hint. . .

You can always outright tell him that the day is coming up and that you expect something special from him . . .

If he does not get the hint and does not get anything for you, then I would even consider why you are even dating the insensitive jerk.
