I'd say a good 90% of your answers are coming from people who havent even tried dieting, never mind the cereal diet. I am a nutrtionist, so if your goning to take notice of those looney bins, try my idea too...
All cereals have sugar in them, look on the labels, and the ones that say they're sugar free, have a sweetener in them to replace the suger, which does more damage to your liver than you can imagine.
Try the 'you are what you eat' diet, from dr gillian mckeith, she knows what she's on about, and the diet is way to long for me to type it as an answer, but if you cant get your hands on her dvd, or live in american, (where they don't have the programme) you can e-mail me for a step-by-step guide to losing weight, and using heathy foods that don't make you want to throw up, and foods that will help you allover, including stress, tiredness, and your sex-drive, at hindd@yahoo.co.uk...
Good luck with your new healthy lifestyle...
Dan

I havent tried it but it would work if you think about it.
A bowl of cereal only has about 300 calories so if you eat 3 bowls a day you would only be taking in 900 calories which is around half what you should be eating.
Fine for short term weight loss but not a very balanced diet.

Yeah it works, but its not healthy for you!!!
Try eating three meals a day with fresh fruit, and salads and veg, and some meat to get iron and protein in the diet, then go to the gym 3 times a week. That is just affective and you will have more energy.
Good luck x

Hey Anni333, If I was you, I wouldn't try it. Most fad diets don't work because it's not possible to stay on them and generally speaking they don't provide you with sufficient nutrients for good health. However, there are many good diets available that will provide for a gradual weight loss without starving or depriving yourself of proper nutrients. 1. Weights Watchers. 2. Dr Phil's seven paths. 3. Glycemic Index (GI) diet www.gidiet.com. Before starting any diet regime you should first consult with your doctor or a dietitian.

I tried it and it worked. Just eat sensibly for the other two meals and make sure your snacks are low in calories, e.g. fruits, rice cakes, low sugar cereal bars. Do a lot of walking or some other form of exercise. I used non-dairy creamer or low fat soy milk. I also used weeatbix or Nestle fitness. Try to get the cereals that are low in sugar. It is only for two weeks and after that try to maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle.
Hope it goes well for you.

sorry but I think its absolute rubbish. A bowl of cereal has under 300 calories so if you eat it for lunch and breakfast, you've got about another 1000 you can eat at dinner so obviously you'll lose weight. why not just calorie count? all the drop a jeans size cereal diet is good for is making money for kelloggs!

Eat right.
http://www.glycotrim.com/mannalive and download the 10 simple rules of low glycemic eating or if you go on the cereal diet and ignore whole foods, your body will go into a state of ketosis and start eating your muscles including your heart and you will get dizzy, faint, anaemic and then no matter what you eat that is low fat, you will store it all as fat.
Stay away from brand name packaged foods. They have hydrogenated oils and trans fats like non dairy creamers and instant bars. They contribute to heart disease and high LDL lethal cholesterol levels.
No artificial sweeteners. They cause neurological damage. Talk to people who have LUPUS, they are drinking diet sodas every day.
No Splenda, either. It's chlorinated and causes divets and damage along your artery walls, just like drinking chlorinated pool water every day. It causes your liver to produce too much LDL, bad cholesterol as an anti inflammatory response to the damage.

Yes it does work.
I lost quite a bit of weight last year by having two bowls of cereal and a dinner at night. I also ate lots of fresh fruit and veg. Make sure you calorie count your evening meal tho.
Good luck. Let us know how you got on.

anything will work when you cut down on your calories. if you dont like that cereal which i find it horrible you can choose somthing else like a cheese stick, an apple with some peanut butter on it. or maybe some baby carrots dipped in a light dressing.
